The drama is set in a small New York suburb, three years after 2% of the world’s population abruptly disappeared without explanation. The series is the story of the people who didn’t make the cut.

Justin Theroux (Mullholland Drive) stars as Kevin Garvey, a father of two and the chief of police, who is trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy when the notion no longer applies.

The series also stars Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Charlie Carver, Max Carver, Carrie Coon, Ann Dowd, Michael Gaston, Emily Meade, Annie Q, Margaret Qualley, Amanda Warren and Chris Zylka.

The Leftovers will air on Sky Atlantic in the autumn.
