BBC has released a first-look behind the scenes image from three-part drama, Mapp and Lucia, based on the EF Benson books and adapted by Steve Pemberton.
The picture shows Miranda Richardson and Anna Chancellor in costume as social rivals Miss Elizabeth Mapp and Mrs Emmeline ‘Lucia’ Lucas in the gardens of the National Trust property Lamb House in Rye, East Sussex. The property was the original inspiration for EF Benson’s fictional town of Tilling.
The cast also stars: Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, Felicity Montagu, Gemma Whelan, Paul Ritter, Katy Brand, Poppy Miller, Nick Woodeson, Pippa Haywood and Frances Barber.
Mapp and Lucia will air on BBC One later this year.

Happy to see the new TV version Mapp and Lucia.
Still i know and i am totally sure never ever can be even close to the magnificent unique interpretation of Geraldine McEwan , Prunella Scales , Nigel Hawthorne and all the rest of the stellar cast and production of the 1985 Mapp and Lucia , from the Gold Era of British TV.
Good luck to the new cast. I admire Anna Chancellor , but she is too tall for Lucia, and Miranda Richardson , a great actress suppose to look more fat, chubby and with bigger teeth as Mapp , not as pretty as she show in the new interpretation.
