Kudos drama not returning!
Sky 1 has announced it will not be renewing firefighter drama, The Smoke for a second series.
The eight-part series, starring Jamie Bamber and Jodie Whittaker was well received by viewers and critics averaging between 200,000 and 300,000 viewers across its run.
Sky announced the news in a statement saying:
“We’re very proud of The Smoke, which played a key part in Sky1’s plans to develop big scale dramas; something we will continue to do with our audience in mind.”
“Unfortunately, sometimes tough decisions need to be made as to which dramas return and will not be returning for a second series.
“We would like to thank the entire creative team and cast, and everyone at Kudos.”
Whittaker will next be seen reprising her role as Beth Latimer in Broadchurch series 2, which has begun filming in Dorset and North Somerset.
