Showtime series returning to C4
Channel 4 has confirmed it has acquired the UK rights to air the recently renewed second season of Showtime’s drama, Masters Of Sex.
The series – which is based on Thomas Maier’s book ‘Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, the Couple Who Taught America How to Love’ – recently ended it’s first series on Channel 4 and stars British actor Michael Sheen (The Queen) and Lizzy Caplan (True Blood) as pioneering sex experts Dr William Masters and Virginia Johnson.
The series received mixed reviews when it aired on Channel 4 but performed better in the US.
Showtime’s David Nevins said of the series recommission “The critical and audience reaction to Masters of Sex since its great launch has been incredibly gratifying.”
Showtime and Channel 4 are yet to confirm when filming of Masters Of Sex will commence or when it will air.
