Matt Willis joins EastEnders’ famous faces… as Stacey’s boyfriend

Busted (and more recently McBusted) band member, Matt Willis is set to join EastEnders for a short stint to play the role of Luke, Stacey Branning’s boyfriend.

Matt began filming his new role this week alongside Lacey Turner who plays the popular and newly-returned Stacey. Luke is described as an ambitious young man who is deeply in love and devoted to his girlfriend. Currently working hard in the city, Luke is determined to build a secure life for him and his family but as drama always seems to follow Stacey wherever she goes, things will not be plain sailing for the duo…

Matt Willis says “I am so thrilled to be a part of such an iconic show.  I grew up watching EastEnders so this is really exciting for me!”

Executive Producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins added “I’ve always loved Matt and it will be a real treat for viewers to watch him and Lacey together on-screen as part of her return to the Square. Luke gives as good as he gets, so is a great foil to Stacey. Pity she’s been lying to him since the day she met him…”

Matt can next be seen in the new series of Birds Of A Feather. His other television and theatre credits include:  Wicked, Footloose, Miss Marple.

Matt will appear on-screen in EastEnders early next year.
