This years Brit Awards 2013 have unveiled their new statue designed by Damien Hirst.

Damien Hirst is the third artist to design the award after Vivienne Westwood (2011) and Sir Peter Blake (2012). Hirst said: “I am honoured to be asked to design this year’s statue, it has become such an iconic award, I love the Brits.”

The white statue with multicoloured spots will be handed out to Brit Award winners at this years ceremony held at London’s O2 Arena on February 20 hosted by James Corden.

“Damien is truly one of the most important British artists and his reimagining of the statue will make winning a 2013 Brit an even more special proposition,” Brits Chairman David Joseph said.

Nominations for the awards will be announced in London this evening (January 10) where Brits Critics’ Choice Award winner Tom Odell will also collect his prize.
