Ruth Wilson reprises her Luther role.

The news many Luther fans have been waiting for: the return of Alice Morgan in series 3, has been revealed by the shows twitter page.

The first picture revealed yesterday [11th January] showed the back of Alice (Ruth Wilson) with the words “Guess Who. ”

Followed by another picture today [12th January] revealing her identity with the words, “She’s back. ”

Ruth Wilson’s narcosistic sociopath appeared in the first two series of the BBC One drama, in which Luther (Idris Elba) was unable to prove she killed her parents. He continued to have a complicated relationship with her as she sought his approval.

The character of Alice Morgan is set to get her own spin-off series according to former Spooks writer and Luther creator Neil Cross.
