Singer Adele has officially announced on her twitter page that she has indeed recorded the new James Bond theme song for Skyfall after months of rumours, along with a picture of the cover of the sheet music. A preview clip of the song has also been released and will premiere in full at 00.07am (UK time) on Friday, October 5 – which is also the 50th anniversary of the release of the first James Bond film, Dr. No.
In a statement, Adele said: “I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for Skyfall.
There’s a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song.
“But I fell in love with the script and Paul (Epworth) had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end.
“It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I’ve never done which made it exciting. When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I’ll be back combing my hair when I’m 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day I’m sure!”
The photo shows the credits for the track which was written by Adele (listed as A. Adkins) with producer Paul Epworth (producer and co-writer of Adele’s hit single Rolling In The Deep).who has arranged the music with film composer JAC Redford, whose credits include The Help, The Iron Lady and Wall-E..
The song Lyrics include: “Let the sky fall/ When it crumbles/ We will stand tall/ And face it all together.”
