From visionary filmmakers Tim Burton (Dark Shadows, Alice In wonderland, BeetleJuice) and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Night Watch, Day Watch) comes a reinvention of the Vampire genre tied in with the story of Abraham Lincoln as a Vampire Hunter with the aid of some impressive special effects.
The film stars: Benjamin Walker in the title role; Dominic Cooper; Rufus Sewell; Anthony Mackie and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Spurred on by his desire to avenge the gruesome death of his mother, this white-knuckle adventure follows Lincoln as he is thrust into an epic fight against vicious creatures threatening the future of the United States. Aided by the mysterious Henry Sturges (Dominic Cooper; The Duchess, Captain America) in his quest to rid the country of the undead, and in particular their diabolical leader Adam (Rufus Sewell; The Illusionist, The Tourist). Lincoln risks his presidency, his family and his life to protect America from an uprising of blood-thirsty vampires.

Extras
The extra’s are only available on Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray only:
The Great Calamity Graphic Novel
This is a short animation of the film which is visually impressive and in some ways works better than the action film.
The Making of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
This is an in depth insight into how the premise went from book to screen as writer Seth Grahame-Smith, Tim Burton and some of the films cast explain the story and concept of the film. It has some interesting insights into the film including why Seth chose Abraham Lincoln, plus the behind the scenes footage is fun to watch as the films choreographed fight sequences are played out.
Audio Commentary with Writer Seth Grahame-Smith
The audio commentary let’s the extra’s down slightly as the films writer Seth Grahame-Smith takes on the sole role in the commentary, unfortunately you don’t really learn nothing new as the majority of the commentary is a repeat of what Seth has already explained in the ‘making of’ feature. There’s also very little talk about what’s happening on screen as Seth reiterates how the book and film differ. My advice watch the ‘making of’ feature then enjoy the film without the commentary.
āPowerlessā Music Video by Linkin Park
The mighty Linkin Park provide the music for the films credits and soundtrack. An understated song but one which fits the mood of the film perfectly.
