A new villain stirs up H-Division!
Ripper Street Series 4 will see Harry Potter‘s Matthew Lewis and Shameless’ David Threlfall join the cast of the Amazon Prime/BBC One period drama.
Lewis – who tweeted a picture (below) of his new role – will be joining the ranks as a new policeman at H-Division, while Threlfall will be the series new villain, called Abel Croker. Described as a “wharfinger, villain and keeper of other men’s secrets.”
Series 4 – which is currently filming – is set to see “criminal and personal dramas that will revive and escalate the intense complexity”of the characters’ lives.
Other new additions to the cast include Jonas Armstrong (Robin Hood), David Warner (Titanic) and Killian Scott (’71).
Matthew MacFadyen, Adam Rothenberg, Jerome Flynn, MyAnna Buring and Charlene McKenna will reprise their regular roles.
Also returning after a long absence, will be Lucy Cohu and Derek Riddell as Deborah Goren and Constantine who was last seen in the first series.
Ripper Street is also confirmed to return for a fifth series. Series 3 is currently airing on BBC One following its earlier broadcast on Amazon Prime.
