Here we have our first glimpse at David Tennant and Janet Montgomery filming new BBC Four spy drama ‘The Spies Of Warsaw,’ which is currently being filmed on location in Poland.

The two 90-minute film adaptations of one of Alan Furst’s most acclaimed novels spans the decade from 1933 to 1943, as the Germans slowly consolidate their political stranglehold on Europe, and centres on a thrilling spy story set in Poland, Paris, London & Berlin in the years leading up to the Second World War. French and German intelligence operatives are locked in a life-and-death struggle on the espionage battlefield.

The picture is courtesy of a Polish website, which appears to report about the filming day when the picture was taken – showing David Tennant in his role as new military attaché, Colonel Jean-Francois Mercier, who begins a passionate love affair with Parisian lawyer, Anna, played by Janet Montgomery.

The ‘The Spies Of Warsaw novel has been adapted by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais to be shown on BBC Four.
