The demise of vampire Mitchell, played by Aidan Turner who left at the end of series 3 to film the his role in Hobbit, meant, as a BBC3 spokesperson explained: “The central premise of Being Human has always been that there is a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost living together, so we needed a new vampire.”
Meet the new vampire: posh English Hal, played by the not very English Damien Molony! Speaking to SFX, the Irishman assured fans he is not the same as his predecessor Mitchell: “Hal’s not Mitchell 2. There’s a lot of back story to play with and I assure you he’s very, very different.”
Written by Toby Whithouse, Molony’s Hal will join the current cast of ghost Annie (Lenora Crichlow) and werewolves George and Nina (Russell Tovey and Sinead Keenan).
Currently being filmed in Barry, Wales, series 4 of Being Human can be seen on our screens in early 2012 on BBC3!
