The Doctor faces a classic enemy!

As the cast of Doctor Who begin filming the final block of Series 10 in Cardiff, the BBC has unveiled a new behind the scenes image, revealing the return of the original Mondasian Cybermen for the final two episodes of the forthcoming series.

The Mondasian Cybermen – a deadly enemy of The Doctor, has not been seen in over fifty years. But as the first look image (above) shows, The Doctor (played by Peter Capaldi) is faced with the much-feared classic foe from the planet Mondas in episodes 11 and 12.

Known to be Peter Capaldi’s long-time favourite foe, The Mondasian Cybermen will be starring alongside new companion, Pearl Mackie as Bill Potts, Matt Lucas as Nardole and Michelle Gomez as Missy.

The episodes are written by Steven Moffat and directed by Rachel Talalay.

Doctor Who Series 10 begins on BBC One on Saturday 15 April.
