“He’s a master manipulator, but he’s also got a huge heart!”

A new interview with star of Prison Break, Wentworth Miller explains the evolution of his character Michael Scofield ahead of the series return to FOX.

Prison Break returns for a fifth season following an eight-year break, which sees original stars Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar and Paul Adelstein reunite with Miller for an all-new adventure series.

Wentworth reveals that prison “has changed” Michael.  He’s a master manipulator, but he’s also got a huge heart and that interferes with his agendas.” Adding, “his hands are dirty at this point in the story, so can he still call himself a good man? That complexity is one of the things I’ve enjoyed about the character from the beginning.”

The new series sees clues surface that suggest a previously thought-to-be-dead Michael may be alive. Lincoln and Sara (Wayne Callies) Michael’s wife reunite to engineer the series’ biggest escape ever, as three of Fox River State Penitentiary’s most notorious escapees, Sucre (Nolasco), T-Bag (Knepper) and C-Note (Dunbar), are pulled back into the action.

Prison Break Season 5 premieres on April 4 in the US on FOX and Monday, 10th April at 9pm in the UK on FOX UK.
