A new first-look trailer for 24: Legacy gives audiences a chance to see Straight Outta Compton‘s Corey Hawkins, in action as the lead in the FOX real-time drama.

From the team behind the original 24 series and 24: Live Another Day – and with original star Kiefer Sutherland now acting as executive producer – 24: Legacy sees a new story and cast but using the same adrenaline-fueled race against the clock format that propelled this genre-defining series.

Six months ago in Yemen, an elite squad of U.S. Army Rangers, led by Sergeant Eric Carter, killed terrorist leader Sheik Ibrahim Bin-Khalid. In the aftermath, Bin-Khalid’s followers declared a fatwah against Carter, his squad and their families, forcing them into federal witness protection. But a recent attempt on Carter’s own life makes it clear to him that his team is now exposed. Carter enlists the help of brilliant and ambitious intelligence officer, Rebecca Ingram (Miranda Otto), the former National Director of CTU, who quarterbacked the raid that killed Bin-Khalid. Ingram is torn between supporting her husband, Senator John Donovan (Jimmy Smits), in his campaign for President of the United States and her love of the action of CTU.

24: Legacy will air in the US on FOX on 5th February 2017. No UK network has been announced as yet, but Sky 1 aired the original franchise.
