Grantchester to return to ITV for a third series

James Norton to return as crime-fighting clergyman.

ITV has recommissioned popular drama, Grantchester for a third series.

The series stars James Norton as clergyman Sidney Chambers and Robson Green as Detective Inspector Geordie Keating – an unlikely crime-fighting duo.

The second series of Grantchester aired throughout March and early April 2016, winning its slot every week, and is currently consolidating at 6.6 million viewers.

A Kudos and MASTERPIECE co-production, the series is based on James Runcie‘s novels, The Grantchester Mysteries and adapted for ITV by writer Daisy Coulam who will also executive produce series 3 alongside, Diederick Santer and Emma Kingsman-Lloyd.
