Friel plays vulnerable Detective ‘Marcella’

ITV has debuted two new teaser trailers for eight-part drama Marcella.

Starring Anna Friel and written by the acclaimed creator of The Bridge, Hans Rosenfeldt, the London set, Nordic style drama focuses on British Metropolitan Police Detective Marcella (Friel) who returns to the Murder Squad to investigate a serial killer case she first worked on in 2005.

However, Marcella is fragile due to the abrupt end to her marriage and her isolation from her 13-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son. Suspicious of her husband Jason’s (Nicholas Pinnock) motives for leaving her, Marcella finds herself playing detective away from work.

Laura Carmichael, Ian Puleston-Davies, Nina Sosanya, Ray Panthaki, Jamie Bamber, Patrick Baladi and Harry Lloyd also star.

Marcella will air on ITV soon.
