’24’ reboot announces new characters

Corey-Hawkins

Homeland‘s Miranda Otto and Straight Outta Compton and The Walking Dead’s Corey Hawkins are to lead the cast of Fox’s 24: Legacy.

The pilot will reboot the 24 franchise without Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer. Instead, the new series will focus on military hero Eric Carter (Hawkins), who must ask CTU upon returning to America, for help saving his life and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.

Otto – best known for playing FBI traitor Allison in season five of Homeland – will play female lead Rebecca Ingram, with a long history at the agency, and the smart former head of CTU. Now married to Senator John Donovan, Rebecca is struggling with second thoughts about having left the counter-terrorism agency.

24: Legacy is written by 24 writers Manny Coto and Evan Katz, and is produced by 20th Century Fox TV, Imagine TV and Gordon’s Teakwood Lane Productions.
