Elaine C Smith (Rab C Nesbitt), Jamie Quinn (Bluestone 42) and Harki Bhambra (Dr Who) have joined the cast of BBC Two comedy, Two Doors Down.

Filming is underway on the six-part Scottish comedy, written by Gregor Sharp and Simon Carlyle, which will see Elaine C Smith play Christine, a slightly overbearing and demanding neighbour. Jamie Quinn is playing Ian, the son of one of the main families in the street, and Harki Bhambra is playing Ian’s boyfriend Jaz.

They will join the core cast: Arabella Weir, Alex Norton, Doon Mackichan, Jonathan Watson and Sharon Rooney.

Steven Canny, Executive Producer, says: “We’re delighted Elaine, Jamie and Harki are joining us for this series. The ups and downs of the residents of Latimer Crescent will be brought brilliantly to life by this fantastic ensemble in these terrific scripts.”

Two Doors Down is a BBC Scotland comedy for BBC Two. Filming has begun this week in locations around Glasgow as well as in BBC Scotland’s Dumbarton studios. It is expected to air in early 2016.
