Former EastEnders actor Sam Strike has joined Series 19 of BBC One’s popular crime drama Silent Witness as guest lead.

Sam will play David Hamilton, who holds his family together during his father’s prison sentence and after his release, sacrificing going to university to provide the emotional support he felt his parents needed after a family tragedy.

They join regular cast members Emilia Fox (Nikki Alexander), David Caves (Jack Hodgson) and Richard Lintern (Thomas Chamberlain).

Sam Strike says: “I’m a fan of Silent Witness, so when the opportunity arose to be a part of it, I jumped at the chance. I really admire David Drury as a director, so to work with him is very exciting. It’s always great to play a character outside of your comfort zone, especially on a platform as successful as Silent Witness.”

The The 21-year-old has recently been added to the cast of new Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel movie: Leatherface as a lead character.

Silent Witness Series 19 will transmit on BBC One early next year.
