Top comedy stars join CBBC’s popular history show

Award-winning CBBC comedy sketch show Horrible Histories, has announced a host of guest stars will be joining series six when the fun history show returns later this year.

Guest stars will include top comedy actors, Lorna Watson who will play Boudicca. Ben Miller stars as King John. Kevin Eldon will play William The Conqueror while Rowan Atkinson sports fine ginger facial hair as Henry VIII. Tom Rosenthal makes a nervous and geeky King Alfred. Kathryn Drysdale woos the Romans as Cleopatra and there’s an hilarious cameo from Sanjeev Bhaskar.

Made by Lion Television and based on Terry Deary’s best-selling children’s books, each episode of Horrible Histories takes a sideways look at the life and times of one prominent historical figure, through sketches and songs.

Returning stars, Sarah Hadland will reprise her role as Queen Victoria, Simon Farnaby will be playing George III and Death. Jim Howick will play both Churchill and Napoleon. Jessica Ransom will play Mary Queen of Scots and Lawry Lewin is back as Cromwell.

Tom Stourton, Adam Riches, Naz Osmanoglu, Jalaal Hartley, Jess Ransom, Natalie Walter and Louise Ford will also be joining the cast.
