Armitage cast as villainous ‘Tooth Fairy’

Richard Armitage has landed a role in the third season of NBC/Sky Living drama, Hannibal – which is based on Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon novel.

The Hobbit and Spooks actor will appear in six episodes, playing the main villain from Red Dragon, serial killer Francis Dolarhyde (aka The Tooth Fairy), who murders entire families with the uncommon size and sharpness of his teeth.

The character of Dolarhyde was portrayed by Ralph Fiennes in the 2002 Red Dragon movie.

Gillian Anderson will also be reprising her role of Bedelia du Maurier as a series regular in the third season.
