Classic horror gets TV update
Merlin star Bradley James has been cast in the title role in Damien, Lifetime’s six-part drama follow-up to the classic horror film The Omen.
Damien follows the adult life of Damien Thorn (James), the mysterious child from the 1976 film who has grown up, seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. Haunted by his past, Damien must now come to terms with his true destiny — that he is the Antichrist, the most feared man throughout the ages.
The series is produced by Fox TV Studios, written and executive produced by Glen Mazzara (The Walking Dead), and directed by Shekhar Kapur (Elizabeth) in his TV directing debut.
Damien is expected to premiere in 2015.
