Roald Dahl’s much loved Revolting Rhymes stories are to be adapted for BBC One for Christmas 2016.

Revolting Rhymes retells classic fairy stories such as Cinderella and Jack and the Beanstalk with some extremely surprising twists and delightful illustrations by Quentin Blake.

The two half-hour animated films films will be produced by Magic Light Pictures (The Gruffalo, Room On The Broom) and air on BBC One as part of Roald Dahl’s centenary year in 2016.

Producer Martin Pope says: “We’re delighted to be bringing Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes to BBC One. Dahl is one the world’s favourite storytellers and Quentin Blake’s drawings are inspirational. We look forward to bringing these films to a BBC1 audience.”
