Iconic actors join for BBC2 drama

Critically-acclaimed actors Anthony Hopkins and Ian McKellen are to star together for the first time in a one-off, two hour drama adaptation of Ronald Harwood’s The Dresser for BBC Two.

The story is inspired in part by Harwood’s own experiences as dresser to actor-manager Donald Wolfit.

Richard Eyre will direct; producers are Playground Entertainment and Sonia Friedman Productions for BBC Two.

The Dresser was commissioned by BBC Drama and BBC Arts for BBC Two.
