The second series of The Village returns this August and sees life post the Great War through young Bert Middleton’s eyes, played by newcomer Tom Varey.

John Simm and Maxine Peake,  Juliet Stevenson, Rupert Evans, Emily Beecham and Augustus Prew reprise their roles in the BBC One period drama, with Derek Riddell, Julian Sands, Phoebe Dyneover, Andrew Gower and Juliet Aubrey joining the six-part series.
