HBO has confirmed at the San Diego Comic-Con 2014, that Season 5 of Game Of Thrones will see the addition of nine new characters.

Joining the cast is Alexander Siddig (24), who will be playing Doran Martell, the ruler of Dorne and the older brother of recently murdered Prince Oberyn. Toby Sebastian will take on the role of his youngest son Trystane Martell. London-born DeObia Oparei (Moulin Rouge) will play Doran’s loyal protector Areo Hotah.

Seeking revenge for the death of her father will be Oscar-nominated Whale Rider actress, Keisha Castle-Hughes as Obara Sand, one of Prince Oberyn’s illegitimate daughters. Rosabell Laurenti Sellers stars as another of Oberyn’s illegitimate daughters, Tyene Sand. While Silk‘s Jessica Henwick will play feisty princess Nymeria “Nym” Sand.

Enzo Cilenti (The Rum Diary) will take on the role of slave trader Yezzan.

Cersei and Jaime’s daughter Myrcella Baratheon who is now living in Dorne will be played by newcomer Nell Tiger Free.

Jonathan Pryce (Tomorrow Never Dies), will star as the High Sparrow a religious leader with many followers.

Game of Thrones returns to HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK in 2015.
