‘Frankie’ writer confirms BBC series axe

Lucy Gannon, the writer of BBC drama, Frankie which starred Torchwood‘s Eve Myles as a district nurse has confirmed the series has been axed by BBC One.

Breaking the news on her Twitter page, Gannon said: “Sad news Frankie ites. No 2ndseries. Rising figures, vhigh appreciation index, good itunes: still not enough. No more we have done. Sorry all.”

The six-part series began with overnight ratings of 4.6 million viewers but dropped to 4.24 million by the finale.

The BBC is yet to comment.
