All-star cast confirmed for Juliette Towhidi’s adaptation of Death Comes To Pemberley.

Further casting has been announced for the new three-part BBC One adaptation of ‘Death Comes To Pemberley’ starring Anna Maxwell Martin, Matthew Rhys and Matthew Goode.

The all-star cast includes: Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who, Dancing On The Edge) as Lydia Wickham; Trevor Eve (Kidnap And Ransom, Waking The Dead) as Sir Selwyn Hardcastle; Rebecca Front (The Thick Of It) as Mrs Bennett; James Fleet (The Vicar Of Dibley, Little Dorrit) as Mr Bennett; Penelope Keith (To The Manor Born) as Lady Catherine de Bourgh; Joanna Scanlan (The Thick Of It, Stella) as Mrs Reynolds; Tom Ward (Silent Witness) as Colonel Fitzwilliam; Eleanor Tomlinson (The White Queen) as Georgiana Darcy; and James Norton (Doctor Who, Cheerful Weather For The Wedding) as Mr Alveston.

The story follows Elizabeth (Maxwell Martin) and Darcy (Rhys), now six years married with two young sons, who are preparing for the lavish annual ball at their magnificent Pemberley home. The unannounced arrival of Elizabeth’s wayward sister Lydia, however, brings an abrupt and shocking halt to proceedings when she stumbles out of her chaise screaming that her husband Wickham has been murdered.

The drama is made by Origin Pictures and is adapted by Juliette Towhidi’s from PD James’ internationally bestselling novel.

BAFTA-winning director Daniel Percival (Dirty War, Place Of Execution) will direct the drama, the executive producer for Origin Pictures is Ed Rubin and the producers for Origin Pictures are David Thompson and Eliza Mellor. The executive producer for the BBC is Polly Hill and the executive producer for Screen Yorkshire is Hugo Heppell.

Filming on ‘Death Comes To Pemberley’ begins this month on location in Yorkshire.
