US Thriller “Hannibal” comes to Sky Living HD

Sky Living has aquired the UK rights to air US thriller ‘Hannibal’, which is loosely based upon the characters from Thomas Harris’ classic novel Red Dragon and stars, Hugh Dancy, Mads Mikkelson and Laurence Fishburne.

The 13-episode series, written and executive-produced by Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies, Heroes), will follow its debut on US channel NBC on April 4th in an exclusive deal with Gaumont International Television will explore the budding relationship between Dr. Hannibal Lecter, the renowned and deadly psychiatrist as he mentors his patient, Will Graham, a young FBI criminal profiler, who is haunted by his ability to empathise with serial killers.

Danish actor Mads Mikkelson (The Hunt, Casino Royale) will satr as the infamous cannibal psychiatrist-turned-serial killer, British actor Hugh Dancy (The Big C, Hysteria) as FBI agent Will Graham and Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix, CSI, Man of Steel) as head of the FBI’s behavourial sciences unit, Jack Crawford. Supporting roles include Gillian Anderson as Lecter’s therapist and Eddie Izzard who will play an inmate at the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane, the very same facility where Lecter is eventually incarcerated.

Will Graham is a gifted criminal profiler who, with the FBI, is on the hunt for a serial killer. Graham’s unique way of thinking gives him the astonishing ability to empathise with anyone – even psychopaths. He always seems to understand what makes them tick. But when the mind of the twisted killer he’s pursuing gets too complicated for even Will to comprehend, he enlists the help of Dr. Lecter, one of the premier psychiatric minds in the country. Armed with the uncanny expertise of the brilliant doctor, Will and Hannibal form a brilliant partnership and it seems there’s no villain they can’t catch. If Will only knew his new partner may turn out to be the one he is hunting…
