Stars success delay Sherlock filming

The filming of the highly anticipated third series of BBC drama, Sherlock has reportedly been delayed.

Filming was due to begin in January but has now been moved to March meaning Sherlock won’t appear back on UK screens till late Autumn as opposed to the original return which was thought to have been August. US viewers will have an even longer wait as a PBS spokesperson says Sherlock will air either late 2013 — or early 2014.

According to EW sources say the shift was necessary to accommodate the busy schedules of the show’s lead stars, Benedict Cumberbatch (who is appearing in Star Trek 2) and Martin Freeman (who plays Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit) – whose careers have rocketed since appearing in the detective drama.

Sherlock series 3 will be 3 x 90 minute episodes which is rumoured to be the final series. The BBC is yet to confirm a return date.
