Take a look at the first look BBC pictures of Suranne Jones as Eve Caleigh, in James Herbert’s chilling haunted house event drama, ‘The Secret of Crickley Hall.

Written and directed by Joe Ahearne, the three-part drama stars: Suranne Jones (Scott & Bailey), Tom Ellis (The Fades), Douglas Henshall (Primeval), Sarah Smart (Five Days), Iain De Caestecker (The Fades), David Warner (Wallander) and Donald Sumpter (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo).

The Caleighs came to Crickley Hall to try and escape the past, little did they realise that the past had other ideas… Trying to get some space from the city where their little boy was abducted, Crickley Hall seems like the perfect destination. But then strange things start happening – cellar doors open of their own accord, hushed whimperings echo through the night and water seems to seep through seemingly impervious rock. There are even sightings of frenzied man wielding a cane. But Eve Caleigh (Suranne Jones) feels a connection with her lost son at the house and even thinks she hears him when she’s there alone. It’s almost as if something, or someone, in the house is trying to help her… ‘Told in dual timeframe, ‘The Secret of Crickley Hall’ is a modern day ghost story, full of scares yet underpinned by the heartbreaking story of a family needing to heal and ghosts who need to be laid to rest.

‘The Secret of Crickley Hall’ will air on BBC One in the Autumn.
