Brits make a mark on America’s Critics’ Choice Television Awards

The nominees for America’s second annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards  have been announced –  with a host of British actors and shows adorning the list which is voted for by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association.

Amongst the Brit entries are: Downton Abbey with Michelle Dockery, up for Best Actress, Homeland and its lead Damian Lewis for Best Actor. Nominations for Best Movie/Miniseries/Actor/Actress has Luther/Idris Elba, Sherlock/Benedict Cumberbatch, Page Eight/Bill Nighy and The Hour/Dominic West all competing, with the female leads of Gillian Anderson for Great Expectations, Lara Pulver for Sherlock and recent BAFTA winner Emily Watson for Appropriate Adult battling it out in the Best Movie/Miniseries Actress category. Presenter Cat Deeley is the final Brit to be nominated for her part as host of So You Think You Can Dance.

Winners will be announced on June 18 at a ceremony in Beverly Hills.
